The hotel had its ups and downs. While it was reasonably priced and clean in some areas, I faced several issues during my stay. My room had a hard bed and an overall outdated vibe, and there was an unfortunate lack of hot water upon arrival. However, I did appreciate that the staff was nice and the hotel was in a good location for my needs.

I recently stayed at the Reef Resort Motel in Mackay and had a lovely experience. Jill, the manager, truly makes you feel at home with her warm welcome and dedication to ensuring guests have a pleasant stay. The location is very convenient for anyone traveling towards Airlie Beach or further north. However, be aware that the restaurant was closed during our stay, which was a bit of a letdown.
